Free Online Practice Resources for ACT Tests and SAT Tests! I4C now offers free SAT and ACT vocabulary and math quizzes. Become a free member and log in as much as you'd like. Students can take practice tests on 5000 vocabulary words. or over 1000 math problems. Parents and Mentors can log in to monitor your scores - including seeing which vocabulary words they missed. Interactive quizzes allow the test taker to retake and study as much as they want.

February brings Black History, Presidents Day, Valentine's Day, Chinese New Year, and more. Visit our monthly newsletter to see all the details. Below are just a few highlights.



WHAT'S HAPPENING THIS MONTH?


Here are just a couple of the February events that you can celebrate this month.

  1. Black History Month- Honor and learn about Black History with our Black History Month school resources, including activities, lesson plans, crafts, museums, biographies, quizzes, and famous pioneers . Discover the impact of people like Harriet Tubman and Martin Luther King, Jr, in addition to musicians, baseball legends, mathematicians, and African American historic timelines. We also have daily Black History lessons in a "who is it" format, describing a famous person every day in February. See if you can answer all of them.

  2. American Heart Month- Explore the human body using our Human Anatomy and Physiology resources . I4C's Science Resources offer online help on most school topics, such as Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, Astronomy, and Earth Science . We also have Physical Education and Health links.

  3. American History Month- Our History topics cover everything from African American History, American History, Presidents, World and Ancient, Medieval, to Jewish History, and more . Find additional Social Studies and History Resources on Economics, Geography, and other general resources.

  4. Nat'l Weather Service Was Established (2-9-1870)- Weathermen have hard jobs these days keeping up with our changing weather patterns. Learn the difference between climate and weather in 4th grade Earth Science. Forecast the weather based upon cloud types. Discover interactive weather maps, predicting the weather while interpreting meteorological data. Collect daily weather data and even make your own weather station.

  5. GroundHog Day (2-2)- Why do we track the groundhog, anyway? This page has Groundhog Day puzzles, poems, and printables.

  6. Chinese New Year (2-10)- It's the year of the snake. I4C has Chinese history, art projects, language resources, and information on Chinese customs . What better way to celebrate the Chinese New Year by learning Mandarin. We have Chinese flashcards, online language games, numbers, letters, and writing techniques.

  7. Valentine's Day (2-14)- Who needs another fun reason to eat candy? Find Valentine's day crafts, cards, printables, and other activities to celebrate this day of love.

  8. Abraham Lincoln's Birthday (2-12-1809) Presidents Day (2-18) and George Washington's Birthday (2-22-1732)- Learn about the life of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington while studying up on Presidents Day . Visit presidential libraries . Click around for Presidents Day activities, worksheets, and a web quest.




TEACHER RESOURCES

  1. If you passed up our things to celebrate section, here's where you can find a ton of Black History Month resources, lesson plans, activities, timelines, and historical facts. We also offer a daily lesson question for every day in February.

  2. It's never too late to learn a second language. In honor of the Chinese New Year of the snake, check out I4C's Mandarin page. You can find Foreign Language resources for Spanish, German, French and more on this page.

  3. The February calendar seems to cover a lot of science and history topics. As a reminder, we have entire areas dedicated toElementary Science teacher resourcesand High School Science teacher tools. Reinforce the lessons you just taught with our online interactive skills games, divided by grade and school subject.

  4. For our Pre-K fans, find cutting with scissors help using these cutting practice worksheets and printables to get those crafts looking great.

PARENT RESOURCES

  1. February is a month filled with craft-type holidays. Do you need help teaching your youngsters how to cut? Practice scissor skills with these helpful tools.

  2. Valentine's Day is almost here. It's one of the craftiest holidays of the year. Find Valentine's projects, arts and crafts printables, and cards. Chocolate comes separately.

  3. Name that President. It's just one of the games and activities your kids can do at home in honor of Presidents Day.

  4. Did you know the National Weather Service was established this month, back in 1870? There are many ways to study weather and elementary science. Kids can wake up daily and track the forecast, study clouds, understand climate, and more.

  5. Practice and more practice - it's a great way to reinforce and maintain the lessons our students learn during the day. Make doing homework fun. Play online games that cover just about all school subjects.

TECHNOLOGY TIPS


  1. Think Before You Open: Remember there are a lot of online scams. Make sure you update your password frequently, and never open emails from senders you do not know or that have questionable links. Tech tutorials

  2. Insert Tables in Word: You can easily organize students, stats, or subjects in a table format. Click Table, then Insert, and manually enter your number of columns and rows. More Microsoft Word help.

  3. Like Us on Facebook: Did you know we're on Facebook? Look up internet4classrooms.com and like us. You can even find our newsletters there.



We also have other basic instruction in Microsoft Office, including Word 2007, Excel 2007, Powerpoint 2007.
