  4. In 1938, the first issue of "Action Comics" was published with the world's first super hero, Superman.
  5. In 1967, the Beatles' record "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" is released in the U.K.
  6. On June 1, 1968, Helen Keller dies in Westport, Connecticut, at the age of 87.
  7. In 1971 , the Ed Sullivan TV Show's final broadcast aired on CBS .
  8. In 1975, cars driven in the Netherlands are now required to have seatbelts.
  9. On this day in 1980, CNN (Cable News Network), the world's first 24-hour television news network, aired.
  10. In 1991,Mount Pinatubo (Philippines) erupts for 1st time in 600 years.
