  1. Aesop's Fables with morals listed. This site has hundreds of fables and fairy tales.
  2. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll - A twelve-chapter performance in RealAudio and in mp3 format by the Wired for Books Players.
  3. BBC - CBeebies Story Circle - Many genres of stories for children. Some audio, some not. Be aware that the British accent may confuse some students.
    1. Story Circle Printable Books From CBeebies - A cut out and keep Story Circle book. There are many books that you can print and color from CBeebies's Story Circle. These books are in .pdf format.
  4. Beantime Stories from Chateau Meddybemps - ....where jellybeans ripen under tropical rainbows. Check their homepage for other neat things.
  5. Children's Storybooks Online - You will find illustrated stories for young children and older children. (some with audio)
  6. Farmyard Animals - Counting Story; audio included.
  7. Fimbles - Comfy Corner - Reads stories to children. Very entertaining!
  8. The Greedy Hippo - Listen to this story. The words are below the illustrations.
  9. Goldilocks and the Three Bears - Listen to the story and then print the sequencing activity.
  10. The Green Grass Grew All Around - Song and book.
  11. The Grumpy Bug - Very entertaining and interactive.
  12. JayJay's Storybook - JayJay is a jet plane who is afraid of the dark.
  13. Kindersite - Multi link with many online stories. Some have audio. Age level is indicated on each.
  14. Kizclub Stories - Stories are read to the child. Words are outlined for read-along. Excellent site for beginning readers. Loads of different stories.
  15. Lil' Fingers Storybook - Over a dozen stories and a coloring activities page also. No audio is included.
  16. Little Bird - "Goodnight, Bird" is a very cute story.
  17. Little Animals Activity Center - Audio stories where there is interactive participation. This is a British site and the language pronunciation and meanings may seem different at times.
  18. Little Red Riding Hood - Listen to the story, then do the activities.
  19. Moogie the Messy Beastie - Great story that is read aloud.
  20. Online Children's Stories - Group of Story collections.
  21. Online Stories - This site does not have audio and includes books on colors, numbers, plurals and animal matching.
  22. Online Stories - This site includes interactive stories, which are perfect for children to read with you or by themselves.

  32. The Symphony of Friendship - A story about the start of the Japanese custom of playing Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at Christmas. ( 2nd grade and up )
  33. Woodpecker's Knocking - Story with audio.
  34. You Make the Story (Plaid-Libs) - Children supply adjectives, adverbs, verbs, nouns and pronouns and then a silly story is generated.
