  1. In 1661, Isaac Newton is admitted as a student to Trinity College in Cambridge.
  2. In 1851, the first installment of Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stow is published in The National Era.
  3. In 1917, young American men began registering for the draft to fight in World War I .
  4. In 1947, George C. Marshall , U.S. Secretary of State, outlined the Marshall Plan in his speech at Harvard University.
  5. In 1953, Denmark adopts a new constitution.
  6. In 1968, Senator Robert F. Kennedy was shot in the head at the California Democratic presidential primary in Los Angeles,. He died the following day.
  7. In 1973 - Jim Crowford made the first hole-in-one in the British Amateur golf championship.
  8. In 1988, the first Children's Miracle Network Telethon raises $590,000.
  9. In 1991, Mikhail Gorbachev receives his 1990 Nobel Peace Prize.
  10. In 2004, former President Ronald Reagan died at his home in Los Angeles, CA.
