1. farmer: the business of raising crops and animals
2. factory: a building where goods are made
3. karate: Asian way of defending yourself
4. lumberjack: a person that cuts down trees and transports them

Thursday Activities

1. Click on this link and select a game to play at the bottom of the page
2. Whirly Game - Have an adult read the directions to you. Sound out the words. Is it a real word or not?
3. Word Scrambler - Click on the link and create your own word scrambler with your vocabulary words. Type in the number of words you wish to scramble and press the "next" button. You will see a sheet that has the answers for you. Press next again and print out the page. Complete it and put it in your notebook.

Use the daily activities to help you remember words that you learn each week. It is much easier to remember what the words mean if you do something with them and use them frequently in talking with your parents, family and friends.

Our factory has many people doing different jobs.

The karate teacher said I did very good in class.
I want to be a Karate teacher when I grow up.

The lumberjack was very strong.
