Using an Excel worksheet to review Language Arts skills

Reviewing cursor styles - There are four common cursor styles used in Excel. This activity will utilize the drag-and-drop capability of the move cursor.
1. Select cursor - Click and drag to highlight multiple cells with this cursor, or click in a cell to select the single cell
2. Move cursor - Click and drag the contents of the selected cell to any other cell.
3. Fill cursor - Click and drag with this cursor to fill cell contents into cells below or to the right.
4. Edit cursor - Click to place the cursor into the Formula bar so that you can edit an equation or function.

You are probably very familiar with using Excel to perform mathematical calculations. However, the drag-and-drop feature of Excel allow language arts activities. Download and examine the Excel workbook that is linked below. Try the activities, and try to develop other applications.
