Word List 15

1. fold: To bend over or double up making one part lie on top of another part.
2. search: To look around in order to find something.
3. cheer: To shout out to help celebrate; to encourage or honor someone.
4. idea: To come up with a plan or an action.

Friday Activities

1. Use this site, Vocaroo to help you practice pronouncing your words. Just click on the button that says Click to Record and start talking! When you finish, click the stop button. Click on Listen to hear what you recorded.
2. Draw your words - Use these sheets to pint off and draw and spell out the words you are studying. Click on the link to start. Print out one of the sheets and when completed, put into the vocabulary notebook.
3. How many words can you read. Drag over the words you know to the magnetic board. Click on the link to start.

Use the daily activities to help you remember words that you learn each week. It is much easier to remember what the words mean if you do something with them and use them frequently in talking with your parents, family and friends.

Sample sentences:

It stopped raining so we folded up the umbrella.
My brother folded the sheets and I folded the towels in the laundry room.

Mom and I searched for her keys.
Dad wanted to know what time the movie started, so I searched on the Internet and found the answer.

I missed the basket but my mother cheered me up.
Even though she did not win, her family cheered for her.

Mom liked the idea of me cleaning my room.
She wanted a fun party so I helped her come up with fun ideas.
