Grade 1-2: Vocabulary Lesson for Friday, Week 14

This week's theme is: Parades

Word List 14

1. parade: An ordered march or walk, a procession that could have bands, floats, and people gathered in a line.
2. crowd: A group of people attending a public function; an audience.
3. attention: A soldier posture, with the body erect, eyes to the front, arms at the sides, and heels together.
4. couple: To join together or two things together.

Friday Activities

3. Print out the sheet. Complete it, and put it in your vocabulary notebook.

Use the daily activities to help you remember words that you learn each week. It is much easier to remember what the words mean if you do something with them and use them frequently in talking with your parents, family and friends.

The big crowd of people waved at the people in the parade.
The crowd gathered on the sidewalk to see the parade.

The band stood at attention as they readied themselve to start.
The soldier was standing at attention.

A couple of the cheerleaders forgot their gloves.
