Word List 9

1. fiduciary: of or relating to a holding of something in trust for another: a fiduciary heir; a fiduciary contract; of or being a trustee or trusteeship; held in trust
2. gauche: lacking social polish; tactless
3. hubris: overbearing pride or presumption; arrogance
4. incontrovertible: impossible to dispute; unquestionable
5. interpolate: to insert or introduce between other elements or parts; to insert (material) into a text; to insert into a conversation; to change or falsify (a text) by introducing new or incorrect material; (in mathematics) to estimate a value of a function or series between two known values
6. infrastructure: an underlying base or foundation especially for an organization or system; the basic facilities, services, and installations needed for the functioning of a community or society, such as transportation and communications systems, water and power lines, and public institutions including schools, post offices, and prisons
7. loquacious: very talkative; garrulous

Tuesday Activities

1. Braineo - Braineos makes studying fast and fun. Create decks of flashcards or use decks already created by our community, and memorize them using our selection of games.
2. Step Two: Type in each of your vocabulary words, insert a dash (-) by each word and a space, then type in the definition.
3. Step Three: click on the get code button. This will copy the coding you need for your zoom words. Step Four: Open Word and paste in the coding. A quick way to paste is to right click and then select Paste. Save the file as a web page by opening the white box by "Select a Type." Choose web page in that area and give the file a name. Save the file on the desktop so that you can find it easily. Open your web browser. At the top in the menu, select open file. Find your file of vocabulary words and open it. Sit back and enjoy the show!

Use the daily activities to help you remember words that you learn each week. It is much easier to remember what the words mean if you do something with them and use them frequently in talking with your parents, family and friends.

Sample sentences:

My accountant feels that it's his fiduciary duty to advise me about my investments.
A publisher has a fiduciary duty to act in the best interest of an author.

The man is a talented musician but he is socially gauche.
