Word List 8

1. abrogate: to abolish, do away with, or annul, especially by authority
2. chicanery: deception by trickery or sophistry
3. circumnavigate: to proceed completely around; to go around; circumvent
4. deleterious: having a harmful effect; injurious
5. enervate: to weaken or destroy the strength or vitality of
6. expurgate: to remove erroneous, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable material from (a book, for example) before publication
7. fatuous: foolish or silly, especially in a smug or self-satisfied way

Wednesday Activities

1. Make your vocabulary words stand out! Create creative images of your words to print out and keep in a ziploc bag for study practice. Click on this link for your creations.
2. Select a text effect and click on it. Type your vocabulary word in the white box that says "type here." To create your image, click on the button that says, "fancify your text" Save the images in a word document and print them out. Cut them into individual cards for study practice.
3. Mind Mapping Tool - Go to this website and click on play for instructions. Create a mind map with your vocabulary words. Print it out and put it in your vocabulary notebook.

Use the daily activities to help you remember words that you learn each week. It is much easier to remember what the words mean if you do something with them and use them frequently in talking with your parents, family and friends.
