- Roosevelt dedicated more land than any other president to be set aside for national parks.

- June 1906 -Congress passed the Hepburn Act, which gave the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) the power to set maximum railroad rates which led to the discontinuation of free passes to loyal shippers
