  • The creation of the New England Confederation in 1643.
  • 1675 - Bacon's Rebellion - the first significant revolt against England's authority.

  • The New England Confederation - a group made up collectively of the Massachusetts Bay, Plymouth, Connecticut and New Haven colonies.
  • Nathaniel Bacon - motivated a movement against royal authority on behalf of struggling farmers
  • John Locke - philosopher whose ideas early America was based on.
