  • The Boston Massacre - On March 5, 1770, Americans threw snowballs at British soldiers who responded with fire, leaving 3 dead.
  • In 1770, Parliament repealed the Townshend duties.

  • Charles Townshend - British chancellor of the exchequer who drafted a fiscal plan that was very unfavorable to the Americans.
