1. "FROM ROCK 'N' ROLL TO A MARS SPACE SCIENTIST" - A science lesson plan which allows students to identify science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers that are represented on a mission such as the Mars Science Laboratory. They will conduct research into the requirements of entering a STEM field of their choosing and be able to describe where they might work and what sorts of projects they might be involved in.
2. 6th Grade Science Units - This site provides resources for various science topics.
3. A Creator's Rights - In this lesson, students are introduced to copyright, fair use, and the rights they have as creators. Some resources for this lesson will need to be adpated.
4. Cells and Vocabulary - This is a model lesson for teaching vocabulary in science. It references activities from 50 Instructional Routines to Develop Content Literacy (2nd Ed) published by Pearson.
5. The Internet of Things: IoT - Students will be able to define the Internet of Things (IoT) and how it works. Students will develop models of their own IoT and speculate about future technologies and abilities the IoT will enable.
6. The Science of Baking - In this lesson, students engage in a cross-curricular unit of study using expert advice and the scientific method. Students work collaboratively to explore the function and chemical structure and reactions of leavening agents creating original recipes, hosting and producing their own cooking videos, and building concept maps and a pathfinder for communicating understanding of food science principles and practices.
7. Which Me Should I Be? - In this lesson, students learn that presenting themselves in different ways online carries both benefits and risks.
